Homework 1: Self Introduction

Hello World! My name is Cynthia Murillo! I am currently enrolled into CNIT 132 to better some basic skills in HTML and CSS. Although, this is not my first Computer Science course or HTML Course I am still a bit nerves as most of my skills I have acquired not only through course work but, through web searches, codecademy and SoloLearn App courses. My goal is not only to create PRETTY webpages but most importantly responsive pages. As one of my biggest pet-peeves is getting to a webpage and when I click on an icon or link nothing happens. I recently created my "first" webpage that actually incorporated javascript which made me really happy.

My path in web development is still being paved. I have learned a lot over the last 2 years yet I am still a newbie. Started off getting my feet wet with a Python class and then moved on to taking C++ classes. Even though I was told that C++ as my first language would be a bad idea due to the syntax being more difficult. This Spring 22' semester I enrolled in my first javascript class but, hoping to get an internship summer 2022.

My favorite website is YouTube! It is my favorite because of all the music I can search for. At times I did wish they didn't allow just anyone to post or that they would better their algorithms when it comes to showing me suggestions but, I do like the fact that it can also search based on the so-called "lyrics" I remember.

• w3schools - One of the most helpful websites it not only is clear in the way they provide information but, the 'Tryit' feature is my favorite and most helpful tool.
• 7 Tips to program faster - These 7 tips are good, one of my favorites is 'Put Your Knowledge into Action' sometimes just reading what is in the book is not enough and actually putting what you read about into a working code is a good way for you to know you actually learned what you just read about.
• SoloLearn - I believe hearing things explained by different people it helps with your comprehension and immediate reward even a simple 'good job!' to your answer helps with motivation. SoloLearn also gets my competitive side into action since it offers code challenges not only against the computer but other learners.
