Saginor's Grading Policies
for
LIBR 51: Introduction to the Use of Libraries
Karen Saginor

The total number of points for all work for the semester is 1,000.
Each quiz is worth 30 points. Five quizzes will count towards the Midterm grade. Ten quizzes will count towards the Final grade.

Points and percentage weight of assignments for LIBR 51:

    POINTS PERCENTAGE
Midterm score:   Quizzes   150   50%
    Midterm Exam   200   50%

Final score:   Quizzes   300   30%
    Project   300   30%
    Midterm Exam   200   20%
    Final Exam   200   20%

I record all scores as numbers, and simply add the numbers to calculate grades. I use the following scale to submit letter grades to the Registrar's office:

Grading scale: A = 900-1,000
B = 800-899
C = 700-799
D = 600-699
F = 599 or below

If you get a D or an F in any course at City College, you may repeat the course to replace that grade. The college catalog says, "when a student repeats a course because of a substandard grade (D, F or NC), the original grade will not be used in calculating the student's CCSF grade point average."
