LC Call Number Exercise

LIBR 55A: Library Cataloging and Classification

This exercise will give you practice in using the Library of Congress Classification schedules and the Cutter chart to assign complete LCC call numbers. For each item, you will input the same call number in each of two formats:
  1. The format used for the spine label
  2. The format used in the MARC record
Explanation and instruction on how to use the LCC schedules and the Cutter chart will be given in a classroom session.
